The UW Oshkosh women's diving team concluded its regular season with a meet at Albee Hall and Pool against UW-La Crosse on Saturday.

La Crosse senior Sarah Swanson took the one-meter as well as the three-meter dives with scores of 416.50 and 413.15 respectively. Both of Swanson's scores surpassed the qualifying scores needed for the NCAA Division III championships being held March 21-24 in Indianapolis.

Oshkosh sophomore Allison Booth finished third in the one-meter and three-meter dives with scores of 367.05 and 376.25 respectively. Oshkosh junior Cassie Dutko placed fifth in the one-meter dive with a score of 316.25 and sixth in the three-meter dive with a score of 318.15.

Booth said although she was a bit apprehensive about some three-meter dives, which she was performing for the first time, overall she was satisfied with her performance.

"I was very happy about my performance on one-meter and three-meter," Booth said.  "I was nervous about three-meter because I was performing a few dives for the first time, but it turned out well and I was happy about that."

Oshkosh diving coach Amy Krysiak said she feels good about the season and the improvement her team has shown at every meet.

"We have a nice solid team with a bunch of hard-working kids that come in and give 110 percent every day and have positive attitudes so I'm really pleased," Krysiak said.

With Phil Devine and Tim Kuckuk from men's diving and Dutko all graduating, Krysiak said the team will have to rebuild a little for next season.

"We need to add some depth to the team to keep it strong obviously, but I'm confident we can do that and remain competitive for years to come," Krysiak said.

Booth said while she improved on her diving from last year she is also looking forward to performing new dives next season.

"This season went well for me," Booth said. "I dove a lot better this year than I did last year which definitely made me happy.  I am excited for next season because there are still dives that I can learn which will make me an even stronger diver."

Booth said she is excited going into the conference championships this week and feels the whole team is poised for a strong performance.

"I definitely feel strong going into the conference meet," Booth said.  "These past few weeks we haven't had any dive meets so we have been practicing a lot.  I think all of our hard work is really going to pay off this week.  It is going to be a great meet for everyone."

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships will be hosted by Oshkosh and held Thursday-Saturday at Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis.
