6 from Oshkosh volleyball team named All-Americans

For the second straight year, junior libero Christina Cahoon was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-America First Team.

Joining her on the First Team was senior middle blocker Jacque Ray while senior right side hitter Katie Beining was named to the AVCA All-America Third Team.

Ray was named to the AVCA’s Third Team in 2008.

Garnering national Honorable Mention accolades were freshman left and right outside hitter Aleisha Bagin and senior setter Katelyn Vara.

Last week Beining, Cahoon, Ray and Vara were also named to the AVCA Midwest All-Regional team as well.

Bagin was named the Midwest Region’s Freshman of the Year as well.

Oshkosh will be counting on these players this weekend when they travel to University Heights, Ohio along with seven other teams to play for the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship.
