UW-Oshkosh business student Jason Kobishop received a national marketing award on Feb. 24 at the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas.

Kobishop was awarded the 2010 Digital Signage Expo Content Award Best Non-Interactive Informational Content. The president of Visix , Inc. accepted the award on his behalf because he was unable to attend the ceremony.

According to Brandon Heise, coordinator of technical services, Visix Inc., the makers of the AxisTV product that powers CampusVision, was so impressed by Kobishop's work that they submitted his Titan Pride video to the Digital Signage Expo 2010 awards.

"Jason's work was considered for the award against work by major design firms for major international brands and it stood up, which is great praise for his creativity, work and talent in this field," Heise said.

Kobishop's work beat out 50 other entries from major design firms worldwide that work with brands such as Dunkin' Donuts.

"I'm extremely honored to be nationally recognized for my work," Kobishop said. "To know that my work is on the same level as those who create marketing materials for Dunkin' Donuts, Aramark and Genesco (the company that owns Journeys) was pretty amazing. I am very proud of the work I have done and am happy I can gain recognition for all of the amazing work done by Reeve Union and its employees."

Working for Reeve Union for three years helped Kobishop gain creativity and experience in the area of marketing.

"Without Reeve, I would have never been able to explore different areas of the design field and be as creative as I can," Kobishop said. "I really owe a lot to Reeve Union and all the people I've worked with."

"Jason has made many contributions to the Campus Vision digital advertising system on the UW-Oshkosh campus, including the design of most of the motion content and the skin," Heise said.

Marketing manager of Reeve Union Kate Unger expressed her gratitude for the hard work and creativity Kobishop has delivered to Reeve Union over the years.
