The expected popular hot spot B&G Grill at Reeve Marketplace had its grand opening on Jan. 31. The grill is offering its specialty of diner-like foods such as chicken tenders, burgers, shakes, etc.
The grill is a versatile place to eat, be¬cause it offers home-cooked-like meals and popular comfort foods. The grill is replacing what Burger King used to of¬fer, due to the addition of Jump installed last summer. The grill offers many upscale sandwiches, traditional breakfasts and other food items which will likely be a hit.
According to Randy Hedge, the director of Reeve Union amd University Dining, the grill will be able to do much, much more than Burger King could have.
“With the foods such as the burgers, chicken sandwiches and so on being pre¬pared fresh, the grill seems to be already the rave around campus,” he said.
He also added that the grill is an easy place to use the meal plans so it will be convenient for students to be able to use the B&G Grill regularly.
“The service style of B&G Grill is a plus also,” he said. “The new, more ‘in’ atmosphere seems to be a comfort for stu¬dents and faculty which will bring many people together to enjoy what the grill has to offer.”
Monique Rodriguez, a UW-Oshkosh student, had nothing but great things to say about the new grill.
“The line was long when I first went on Sunday to the grand opening but it was well worth the wait,” she said. “This is ex¬actly the type of food I was looking for.”
Ryan Fochs, another Oshkosh student, agreed.
“I plan on eating here whenever I can,” he said. “The food is so fresh and well made, it’s like my mom is making my sup¬per, not a fast food restaurant and that’s great.”
Reeve Union as well as the University as a whole will benefit largely from this new addition because there will be more food options for students and faculty. The grill aslo brings a new atmosphere in Reeve, and another opportunity for stu¬dents to participate and help out the uni¬versity.
“The B&G Grill is a great addition to an already great place and is already looking to be the anchor of the entire food court,” Hedge said.
