Tears flow as Shana Pawlowic is crowned this year's Miss Oshkosh pageant winner.

The Miss Oshkosh pageant was held at Alberta Kimball auditorium on Saturday. The Miss Oshkosh pageant started in 1964.

The pageant is a scholarship program that awards $350 to all contestants and a max prize of $3,000 to the winner. This is one of the largest scholarship programs in Wisconsin.

The judges use many areas of competition to determine the winner. Thirteen girls competed in the swim suit portion, the talent portion, on-stage questioning and the evening gown portion of the pageant.

The winner this year was Shana Pawlowicz. Pawlowicz is already working on events in support of her main platform, cancer awareness. One of the main events she will be a part of is Relay for Life. She is a cancer survivor herself, so raising awareness is something that is very personal to her.

Pawlowicz will now go on to compete in the Miss Wisconsin pageant, then hopefully onto the Miss America pageant.
