Sept. 6, 2009

(12:58 a.m.) -- An officer observed three males walking in front of Elmwood Commons, one carrying a gallon-sized bottle of wine and an open can of beer, and another was carrying a glass of wine. When the males saw the officer, they tried to hide their containers of alcohol, the police report said. The officer stopped the males and cited 21-year-old non-student Benjamin Betters for alcohol in prohibited area, and 20-year-old non-students Adam Klein and Christopher Helf with underage possession of alcohol.

(11:34 p.m.) -- Community service officers contacted UW-Oshkosh police officers reporting they had observed a man running down the middle of High Avenue trying to start a fight. When police officers located and attempted to stop the man, he fled, according to the police report. Officers were able to catch the man, 23-year-old student Tyler O’Flahrity, who was intoxicated. O’Flahrity admitted to police officers he was yelling and “being mad.” He was cited for disorderly conduct and released to a friend who walked him home.

Sept. 7, 2009

(2:30 a.m.) -- Officers observed a man who appeared intoxicated urinating next to a lighted information sign in lot 15.  Nicholas Sladky, 19, had a blood alcohol level of .107 percent and was cited for deposit of human waste and underage drinking.

Sept. 8, 2009

(12:09 a.m.) -- An officer observed a man and woman walking near Lincoln Avenue and McKinley Street carrying open intoxicants. When the officer tried to stop the pair, the man ran into a house and refused to identify himself, according to the police report. The woman, 19-year-old Kelly Krischling, had a very strong odor of intoxicants, slurred speech and blood-shot eyes, the report said. Krischilng admitted to drinking alcohol and had a blood alcohol level of .215 percent. The officer cited her for underage drinking (1st offense).

(12:46 a.m.) -- Officers observed and stopped a man staggering and pulling on the rear doors of Polk Library.  The man, 19-year-old Jake Muszytowski, admitted to drinking and told officers he drank because he lost his position as a community service officer, according to the report.  Muszytowski had a blood alcohol level of .041 percent, and officers cited him for underage drinking (1st offense).

Sept. 10, 2009

(12:40 a.m.) -- The UW-Oshkosh police department received several complaints over the course of an hour about a man who was intoxicated and had caused disturbances at Breese and Taylor Halls, but was then sleeping under a tree near Polk Library. Officers later located the man on Scott Street. The man, 19-year-old non-student Zachary McDaniel, admitted he had been involved in a disturbance in Taylor Hall and had a bleeding abrasion on the knuckles of his right hand, according to the report. McDaniel also admitted drinking rum and had a blood alcohol level of .217 percent, the report said. Officers cited him for underage drinking (1st offense).

(12:49 a.m.) -- Officers on foot patrol observed a man walking down the sidewalk attempt to jump and look into the window of a female’s room on the first floor of Evans Hall. The man then jumped into a vehicle and took off, the police report said. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified the passenger as 20-year-old student Adam Carlson. Carlson told officers he did not know the resident of the room and admitted to attempting to look in the room. He had an odor of alcohol on his breath and admitted to drinking beer, according to the report. His blood alcohol level was .043 percent, and officers cited him for underage drinking (1st offense).

The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old non-student Travis Rasor, also smelled like alcohol and had blood-shot eyes, the report said. He admitted to drinking and had a blood alcohol level of .095 percent. Officers also cited Rasor for underage drinking (1st offense).

(11:25 p.m.) -- Officers reported seeing an intoxicated man staggering to North Scott Hall and falling asleep outside of an emergency exit. Officers approached the man and discovered he had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, according to police reports. The man, 18-year-old student Patrick Ison, admitted to drinking mixed drinks and had a blood alcohol level of .163 percent. Officers cited Ison for underage drinking (1st offense).

Sept. 11, 2009

(1:59 a.m.) -- An officer observed a woman fall over on the sidewalk next to Gruenhagen Conference Center. After she regained her balance, she began to undo her pants, according to the police report. As the officer approached her, she took off her pants and underwear then squatted in a grassy area visible to “1200 or more student residents,” and four people were watching across the street, the report said.  Officers cited 22-year-old student Kathleen Torgersen for deposit of human waste and warned her for having a false identification card. When asked to explain her actions, Torgersen could only tell the officers “sorry,” the report said.

(3:15 a.m.) -- Officers stopped a man driving a car an estimated 40 mph through a construction zone on Algoma Boulevard. The driver was also repeatedly drifting across the centerline, according to the police report.  Officers identified the driver as 23-year-old former student Nicholas Hardy. Hardy told officers he thought he was driving “30-ish,” and said he was weaving because the road was bumpy, the report said.  He failed sobriety tests and admitted to drinking beer. Officers cited Hardy for operating while intoxicated (1st offense) and operating with a prohibited alcohol content over .10 percent (1st offense). Officers also found marijuana in Hardy’s pocket and cited him for possession of marijuana as well.
