Feb. 22, 2010

(3:03 p.m.) – A student reported to University Police that she had $100 stolen from her wallet. She said the wallet was in her room when she believed it was stolen, and she discovered the money missing when she went to buy art supplies, according to police reports. The student told police she wasn’t sure who took the money, but suspected her roommate, as the wallet was hidden under a pile of clothes on her desk, and the roommate was the only person to know where it was. Officers spoke to the roommate, a 19-year-old student, who confessed to stealing $80 and said she mailed it to a friend in Milwaukee to whom she owed money. Officers cited Margaret Sanders for theft.

Feb. 26, 2010

(1:58 a.m.) – Officers stopped the driver of a vehicle traveling the wrong way in the 600 block of High Avenue. The driver had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, according to police reports. He admitted to drinking and failed sobriety tests, the report said.
Officers arrested the man, 21-year-old non-student Kyle Keller, and cited him for operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited alcohol content. Keller was transported to the county jail for Intoximeter testing, where his reported value was .14g/210 L, the police report said.

(10:04 p.m.) – Officers responded to North Scott Hall where a parent wanted to contact her son. The son told officers he did not wish to speak with his mother. Officers told the woman her son did not want to speak with her and asked her to leave the building. No citations were given.

(11:22 p.m.) – While on patrol in North Scott Hall, officers were advised of a highly intoxicated female who community advisers had seen stumble and go outside without a jacket, according to police reports. Officers spoke to the woman, a 19-year-old student, outside her room. The student consented to a search of her room where officers found a fake ID.
She told officers she had brought it with her to Kelly’s bar, but did not need it to get in, the report said. Officers noticed she had glassy eyes and her breath smelled strongly of alcohol. Chelsey Jorgensen had a blood alcohol content of .201, and officers cited her for underage drinking.

Feb. 27, 2010

(12:52 a.m.) – While on patrol, officers observed two men walking into Lot 11 with cups in their hands. When officers approached the men, they attempted to conceal the cups. When officers spoke to the men, one immediately told officers he was 21, to which the other man replied with something along the lines of, “No you’re not, tell the truth.” The first man, 19-year-old non-student Christopher Frisque then admitted to drinking, the report said. He had a blood alcohol level of .043 percent and officers cited him for underage drinking. The other man was not cited.

Feb. 28, 2010

(1:16 a.m.) – Officers stopped the driver of a vehicle driving the wrong way on High Avenue and entering Lot 30. The driver told officers he wasn’t from the area and didn’t see the signs indicating the street was a one-way street. He had a blood alcohol level of .094, and officers cited the man, 27-year-old non-student Michael Collier, for failure to obey a sign or signal. The passenger, a 20-year-old student, also had been drinking, according to the report. She provided a fake ID to officers and also had a debit card belonging to a different 26-year-old person. Carlee Lehman had a blood alcohol content of .085 percent, and officers cited her for underage drinking. Officers also advised her that further charges may be pending upon investigation into her false ID and debit card.

(9:35 p.m.) – An officer observed a vehicle parked in the loading area of North Scott Hall. After the vehicle left, the officer saw the driver commit traffic violations, including driving the wrong way on Algoma Boulevard. The officer stopped the driver and saw a full case of beer inside of it. The man, 20-year-old student Alexander Torres, was cited for underage possession of alcohol and warned for driving without headlights, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and for being underage and transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle.

(10:54 p.m.) – Officers responded to a disturbance between a man and woman in North Scott Hall. Officers cited Iesha Smith, an 18-year-old student, for disorderly conduct. No further details were available in the police report.

March 2, 2010

(2:06 a.m.) – The Oshkosh Police Department took a 35-year-old woman into custody in connection to a stabbing in the 500 block of School Ave. early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded at the request of the Oshkosh Fire Department, which originally responded to a call for a man complaining of chest pains. Upon arrival, the fire department found a 33-year-old Milwaukee man with a stab wound in his left chest, according to a police department news release. 
Though he needed immediate medical attention, his injuries did not appear to be life threatening, the release said.
Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
