Oshkosh Police arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of robbing JT’s Wash and Mart at knifepoint last week.
Officers are not releasing his name as of press time due to pending court appearances, police said.
During the investigation of the armed robbery, Oshkosh Police Department detectives found the man and took him to the Winnebago County Jail, according to a news release.
Police said last week the man stole an undetermined amount of money from the Laundromat and liquor store located at 751 Wisconsin St. March 1.
The suspect entered the store wearing a dark mask over his face, displayed a knife to the clerk, took the cash and left on foot.
Witnesses chased him, but lost sight of him in the area of Cherry Street and Irving Avenue, according to an earlier news release from police.
The owners of the business declined comment, citing paperwork yet to be filed in connection to the incident.
They told the Advance-Titan last week the robbery was “very unusual,” and said it had never happened before.
“People don’t just come in here like that,” one of the owners told the A-T last week. “We have good security, but you never know.”
