Letter to the Editor: Bill will rightly end automatic pay raises for Congress

I read an article the other day about the passage of a bill to stop the automatic annual pay raises for Congress. I completely agree that our senators and representatives do not need a secretive, automatic pay raise each year, when those of us here in Wisconsin don't receive any pay raise, let alone an automatic one, each year.

Wisconsin's own Sen. Russ Feingold introduced the bill to end the automatic pay raises, and I thank him for that. Time and time again Feingold has proven his dedication to fiscal responsibility. Feingold's Control Spending Now Act will cut one-half trillion from the federal deficit. As he correctly says in his new campaign ad, in Wisconsin, that's how we do things. 

Feingold has stood by his convictions, and he has earned my vote.
