The end of the semester is nearly here. And with summer beckoning us like a cold cocktail on a Friday night we thought now was as good a time as any to take stock of what happened this year and then look forward to the summer and beyond. Looking back, we will remember the good and the bad, because, as some would say, good can only be ascertained if bad things happen, because one needs a reference point to quantify such things. Bill will rightly end automatic pay raises for Congress

I read an article the other day about the passage of a bill to stop the automatic annual pay raises for Congress. I completely agree that our senators and representatives do not need a secretive, automatic pay raise each year, when those of us here in Wisconsin don't receive any pay raise, let alone an automatic one, each year. Students should keep an open mind in global warming debate

On April 27 the College Republicans hosted global warming and environment expert Christopher Horner. More than 50 people attended the lecture, asked questions and engaged in discussion of the president's "green" agenda; however, the UW-Oshkosh community was not very receptive to the idea that a person would actually be on campus challenging the left. Being thin should be about being healthy

I changed my outfit four times this morning before I finally decided on one that looked OK. I've felt the humiliation of having to get a bigger size than I normally wear when I'm out shopping. I have asked the dreaded, "Does this make me look fat?" And yes, I've felt the blow to my self esteem as I glance at the cover of "Cosmopolitan" and see the gorgeous, skinny celebrity staring back at me. Full story
